‘How old are you?’ What exactly is the point of this Politico cartoon? [pic]

Politico’s on a roll today. First, theyessentially ran interference for Hillary by shifting the focus off of her corruption and onto the “GOP slams” againsther over a particularly damning email.

And then there’s this:

It should never have left Matt’s desk. Good Lord, but that’s an awful cartoon.

Funny? Clever? Insightful? Biting?Yeah … it’s none of those things.

Evidently not old enough to know better.

Politico’s Blake Hounshell distracts after Dem senator accused of plagiarism

http://twitter.com/#!/AceofSpadesHQ/status/492051156114624512

The New York Times has alleged that Montana Democrat Sen. John Walsh plagiarized “at least” one-quarter of a 2007 thesis he turned in to earn a master’s degree from the United States Army War College. Serious allegations, right?

For Blake Hounshell of Politico, the first order of business was to provide spin and maybe a talking point for his MSM colleagues and Walsh’s fellow Dems:

It must just be sheer instinct.

Cenk Uygur a little upset with Politico writer’s assessment of him

http://twitter.com/#!/cenkuygur/status/458767904658309120

Liberal commentator Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks” wasn’t too pleased with a dismissive tweet from Dylan Byers of Politico, who wasn’t impressed with Uygur reporting an untruth to his large YouTube audience:

http://twitter.com/#!/DylanByers/status/458694877753384960

Uygur had made the conclusion that NBC is going to fire David Gregory based on the assumption that NBC leaked Gregory’s low ratings to the media. (See Uygur’s video here.) However, that’s not really what happened:

Uygur cited numbers that he believes NBC leaked to Mediaite following the initial report in the Washington Post, but in reality that was not the case. He appears to be referring to ratings numbers Joe Concha quoted in his column about the situation Monday afternoon.

Those numbers from the fourth quarter on 2013 — showing that Meet The Press had its lowest total viewer in a final quarter since 1991, when Russert first started its lowest 25-54 demo ratings in the show’s history — did not come to Mediaite from NBC and could be easily accessed long before this week’s revelations.

In fact, POLITICO‘s Dylan Byers reported those figures all the way back in January under the headline, “NBC’s ‘Meet The Press’ hits historic lows in the final quarter of 2013.”

[Emphasis added.]

Uygur didn’t correct his error and his supporters took their cue to go after Byers:

@DylanByers doesn't have even half the followers of @cenkuygur. Don't punch down Cenk, he's hurt dog. No, NO!

To some on the Left, it’s always about race.

Politico media reporter Dylan Byers retweeted that one — water under the bridge?

I think the Mike Elk story shows the wisdom of making your words as sweet as possible — just in case you have to eat them later.
