Take Time To Slow Down And Appreciate Your Loved Ones This Mother’s Day

Kids grow up way too fast.

And Nichole Nordeman knows just that. Her song “Slow Down” reminds us that we should appreciate the good things and people in our lives before it’s too late. We might not even notice when things pass us by…

Mothers, fathers, and children alike will need to get tissues for this one.

This Mother’s Day, take time to remember your mother, show appreciation to other mothers, and just appreciate those you love in your life.

The Worst Kind Of Transformation In Nature Is The One That Turns A Maggot Into A Fly

Now that summer’s back, we get to enjoy sun, sand, and backyard barbecues.

Unfortunately, that means the flies have come back out to play, too. Seeing them hovering over our food and hanging out on windowsills is bad enough, but what this person just recorded makes them look even more disgusting. Watch what happens when maggots hatch and turn into nasty, adult versions of themselves.

Everything is awful and Mother Nature is a monster.

What I’m telling you is that I’m never eating again.

When You See Why He Put His Oven Rack In The Bathtub, You’ll Want To Do The Same

I always dread the afternoon I set aside to clean my oven. The built-in cycle releases toxic fumes into my home, and I imagine it can’t be healthy for anyone who’s still inside while it’s running. But without it, how else do you get rid of the burnt-on bits from hundreds of meals? Well, all you really need is a bathtub, a towel, some dishwashing soap, and baking soda!

No toxic fumes or need to scrub for hours? This is the best cleaning hack ever!

18 Hilarious Times Fathers Had Absolutely No Idea How To Dad

Fathers get a pretty bad rap for their infamously bad “dad jokes.”

While their humor makes us cringe from embarrassment, their judgement when they’re just trying do their job…y’know, be dads, might actually be more amusing.

Take these photos as hilarious evidence that sometimes, fathers just don’t know how to dad.

1. He didn’t know that overalls aren’t meant to be worn topless.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBM_BTF’); });

2. These totally match…

3. No, tights aren’t pants, despite what this father and tween girls will try to tell you.

4. Isn’t the point of onesies that you don’t need other clothing on top?

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCI1_BTF’); });

5. The hair gel and no-shirt combo is too much. I can’t.

6. He was too busy filming to actually catch him.

7. I’m pretty sure that’s not how it goes.

8. “Wearing things backwards is all the rage”…is what this dad probably said.

9. Let’s hope he’s not in charge of talking about the birds and the bees.

10. Ready for swim class? Check.

11. This dad got confused and put both legs into one pant leg.

12. Dad tried to make her swimsuit more fashion forward. Dad failed.

13. When mom’s away dad will…use a zip tie to do a ponytail.

14. That hat? Yeah, those are shorts.

15. A for effort on that sun block application job.

16. Rompers are annoying when you have to go to the bathroom…or when dad tries to put them on.

17. “So you’re telling me the tie goes in the front?”

18. No…just…just no.

One thing I’ve learned? Dads definitely shouldn’t be allowed to put clothing on their kids…unless, of course, you’re looking for a good laugh.

This Looks Like A Normal First Date, But You’ll Reach For The Tissues 45 Seconds In

When it comes to loss, watching someone you love lose all memory of you is uniquely tragic.

People with Alzheimer’s are still right there in front of you, but the length of a dining room table can feel like an insurmountable obstacle. You can reach out and touch them, but it feels like they’re miles away. And when they look at you, they don’t make the connections they once did. They can’t. They feel like islands, attached to nothing and completely isolated.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, five million Americans now suffer from the heartbreaking condition. That’s five million moms, dads, daughters, sisters, and brothers who have no concept of who they are anymore — five million families who have to grieve the loss of someone who’s sitting right there. All we can do is make them feel as safe and happy as possible.

And that’s exactly what this woman does in the video below. Watch what happens when she asks her date to dance.

People struggling with Alzheimer’s may wake up every day feeling scared and alone, but it’s our job to ensure that they go to sleep every night knowing that they’re loved.

He Thought His Dad Had Forgotten His Birthday…But Then This Happened

Braheim Fowler is all of us when he thought his dad forgot his birthday.

You can almost feel his heartbreak at first. You see him trying to keep a brave face, but hiding his head with his hat so the camera can’t catch his disappointment.

He’s so upset! Don’t let them see you cry, though…

But then his dad sends him to get something out of the trunk…

Someone must be cutting onions in here…

I hope you hit all the home runs, ever, in the whole, wide world, Braheim. Also, happy birthday!

They Told Granny To Close Her Eyes Before Showing Her Something Incredible

We’ve seen hundreds of videos involving surprise pregnancy announcements, but as adorable as those videos are, this one gives them all a run for their money.

YouTuber Jeff Deal and his wife had a very big surprise planned for his grandmother when they showed up at her house one day. Before they began, they told her to keep her eyes closed and sit down.

“It is with immeasurable joy that I introduce you to your great-grandson, Jordan Chase,” were the words Grandma heard as she opened her eyes and instantly started crying. The couple had been trying to adopt for nearly 20 years, so this was a very special moment for everyone involved.

These are the experiences that make life worth living. Don’t you feel like you’re right there in the room with them? There’s nothing quite as beautiful as the love of family.

He Was Just Kayaking When He Saw Something Strange On The Beach So He Did This…

Naude Dreyer has probably seen a ton of wildlife up close while he’s owned and operated Pelican Point Kayaking in Namibia.

But we can’t imagine he’s ever had an experience quite like the one he had yesterday while returning from a tour.

Dreyer found a juvenile male Benguela (or Heaviside’s) dolphin helplessly beached on the shore. Hoping to help the little guy out, he quickly assessed the situation and decided to try to get him back in the water.

Watch what happened when Dreyer coaxed him in…

While sometimes animals beach themselves intentionally, it looks like this kiddo just got lost or swept in by a strong tide.

Thankfully, Dreyer was quick to act and probably saved his life…we’re pretty happy about it!

Pilot Fakes In-Flight Emergency In Order To Pull Off An Epic Proposal

One pilot decided to take unusual marriage proposals to new heights when he faked an in-flight emergency before asking his girlfriend to marry him.

With the help of a dash-mounted GoPro, the man captured the moment he told his girlfriend the flight controls had failed. Asking his (surprisingly calm) partner to read out a series of falsified emergency instructions, the pilot pulled out a ring as she made her way down the list. As she read on, the truth slowly started to dawn on her…watch her reaction below!

What a clever way to set up the proposal. “Conduct ring engagement procedure” sounds just technical enough that it could be a real aviation term.

Good thing she said yes, though. Would have been a really awkward flight back had she said no!

It Looks Just Like Another Picturesque View, But The Truth Is Much Deadlier

December 7, 1941. It’s a day all Americans remember as the day Japan attacked the naval base at Pearl Harbor. This initiated the U.S.’s involvement in World War II. Details of the entire tragedy can be found in every history book across the country, but one story you won’t find in any book is the attack on Japanese soil at Laderan Banadero.

Laderan Banadero, also known as Suicide Cliff, is located right above the Marpi Point Field in Saipan. In 1944, during the height of World War II, Suicide Cliff was the location where countless Japanese civilians and soldiers jumped to their deaths to avoid American capture. The precise number of casualties during the battle is still unknown.

Here’s an aerial view of Marpi Point Field and Suicide Cliff. The airfield was built by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Services, but following the Battle of Saipan, it was overtaken by the U.S. 24th Marines on July 9, 1944.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBM_BTF’); });

A park and peace memorial located just below the cliff was created in 1976.

The memorial is considered a pilgrimage destination for many Japanese visitors. It is also listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Unfortunately, the tragedy at Suicide Cliff didn’t end there. The cliff is a frequented spot for suicides to this day.

Out of dark times often comes tragedy, and what happened at this location just a few decades ago will haunt the surrounding area forever.
