Journalists, butt of Trump’s joke about Russia finding Hillary’s emails, dead certain he wasn’t joking

As Twitchy has noted a number of times, the strain between the news media and Donald Trump started long before his election and looks certain to continue throughout his term, especially as a new front has opened in the ongoing war between the two, with the White House hosting selected briefings off-camera.

It wasn’t only the absence of TV cameras from today’s briefings that stirred up the press; add to that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s insistence Trump was joking on the campaign trail last summer when he said he hoped Russia could find Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 deleted emails.

Comedian wins ‘all the awards’ for racist jab at Bobby Jindal

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced the suspension ofhis presidential campaign tonight, which inspired writer Anil Dashto conclude that Jindal was on alosing track from the start, having abandonedhisIndian American identityandvalues in favor ofbeing “divisive and combative,” which we’ll assume is synonymous with Republican.

Unfortunately, Jindal in particular has been targeted for ethnic purity, fromthe Washington Post tracking down a professor to declare that “Theres not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal”to bothThe Atlantics Ta-Nehisi Coates and CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill falling fora satirical piece claiming Jindal said the Confederate flag was a symbol of his heritage.

Piling on tonight as Jindal bows out of the race is alleged comedian Hari Condabolu, who served up the raciest of racist humor.

We get it, but what we don’t get is why Jindal deserves this kind of abuse. He was born and raised in America to immigrant parents; what’s the proper setting for his “ethnicity dial”? Is the hatred due to his politics, his assimilation into American culture, or is it the product of a universitysystem where young scholarsdemanda campus resource center for “students of marginalized identities”?

Time for some new material?
