Wolf Blitzer: Lincoln Chafee can quit or ‘wind up looking silly’

Most would call it fair to say that candidate Lincoln Chafee did not win last night’s presidential debate. As Twitchy noted, the Washington Post’s Kathleen Parker and many others on Twitter were less concerned with Chafee’s policy positions than they were fascinated by his resemblance to TV’s Grandpa Munster.

Parker suggested that her tweetmight be “too mean,” but others thought it was nothing compared to Wolf Blitzer’s treatment of Chafee today. The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake notes that CNN’s Blitzer, interviewing Chafee, inserted some serious concern-trollinginto the discussion.

Blake writes:

After showing some of the brutal headlines aimed at Chafee’s debate performance, Blitzer offered this:

“Here’s what worries me, Governor: Because of your distinguished career, you’re going to wind up looking silly if you keep going on like this.” Blitzer then pressed Chafee on when he would give up the charade and drop out.

WillBlitzer ask Hillary Clinton if she will drop out of the race if it looks like she’ll be indicted?

Trump shames Cruz on ‘getting along with nobody’

Thursday night’s Republican debate on CNN quickly turned into theugly (but fun) three-way fight bookended by two nice guys that everyone was expecting. There will certainly be plenty of quotable insults from tonight’s showdown, but Donald Trump scolded Ted Cruz early on for his reputation fornot getting along with his colleagues in the Senate.

Yes, yes it does. Where’s the teacher to break this up?

Trump: Man ejected from Ala. rally was ‘misbehaving badly’

As Twitchy reported on Friday, police ejected three people from a Donald Trump rally in Birmingham, Ala., after what was either a scuffle, a physical altercation, or a riot, depending on your source.

Much of the confusion arose from a shaky 30-second video tweetedby CNN with the text, “A black protester at Trump’s rally today in Alabama was shoved, tackled, punched & kicked.”CNN’s online write-up of the incident said that “a half-dozen attendees shoved and tackled the protester, a black man, to the ground as he refused to leave the event,” adding that the all-white mob punched the man and “kicked him while he was on the ground.” However, despite that account, police reported that there were no arrests or injuries.

Several people have since posted video of the incident from different angles, but the question remains: was it a scuffle or a riot? At tonight’s rally in Columbus, Trump, not one to apologize for previous statements, insisted that the protester was “misbehaving badly.”

Politico’s Roger Simon maintains that the black protester was “beaten up.”

No editorializing from the Washington Post’s Jenna Johnson.

CNN later posted its “heavily edited” 30-second Twitter clip to YouTube, where itexpands to 1:47 and puts the lie to CNN’sclaim that “all of the attendees who were involved in the physical altercation with the protester were white,” unless shoving doesn’t count.

Is there a non-biased news source that might want to look into that?

POTUS tells rape survivor a gun could lead to a tragic accident

During CNN’s Thursday night town hall on guns, the president was confronted by a rape survivor, Kim Corban, whowas attacked and raped in her own home by an intruder. A pro-gun advocate, she asked President Obama why he wanted to make it more difficult for her to purchase a firearm for self-defense.

The president’s response wasn’t to tear up, but rather to tell her that none of his proposals would make it more difficult for her to purchase a gun.

Is he certain about that?

However, the president wasn’t done, adding that having a gun in the house to protect herself and her children could lead to a tragic accident.
