Breaking with Trump admin, Israel comes out against Syria ceasefire negotiated by U.S. and Russia

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has come out against the Syrian ceasefire that was created during a recent meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Netanyahu is concerned that the deal helps Iran.

Rep. Keith Ellison: Netanyahu must stop inciting violence

Violence has so escalated in Israel that Secretary of State John Kerry was dispatched to the region last week to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu andPalestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. Kerry sat down with Netanyahu in Berlin and asked that he “tone down” therhetoric that was inflaming the public.

No sale, not even with the world’s greatest negotiator in the room. Do you suppose Netanyahu’s still sore about the Iran deal?

Today, Rep. Keith Ellison tweeted that Netanyahu must stop inciting violence, citing a link to the left-wing newspaperHaaretz.

“Instead of inciting against Israels Arab citizens,” writes Haaretz in an editorial, “the prime minister and his ministers would do well to act to calm things down and adopt a different policy, which regards Arabs as equal citizens, not a fifth column undermining the state.”

Oddly, at no point does the editorial make mention of the rash of stabbings that Palestinians have perpetrated recently, nor does it mention the Palestinian man who drove his vehicle into a crowd of people waiting at a bus stop and then attacked the wounded with a meat cleaver.

Obviously Netanyahu and his violent rhetoric is to blame for that attack. In the meantime, the New York Times reports that the hottest new CDs in the region contain songs such asItan, Itan (“Stab, Stab”), “Intifada of Knives,” and “Run Over, Run Over the Settler.”

Nothing inciting violence there. And let’s not forget the parents who just named their newborn, “Knife of Jerusalem.”Or this Sept. 2 tweet on the Iran deal from an award-winning American journalist.

‘You really are a bigot’: ‘Voxhole’ Max Fisher bravely mocks Netanyahu’s accent

Bibi: Hamas.
Max Fisher: Hahaha you talk funny!
Osama Hamdan: Jews drink blood.
Max Fisher: How about those silly time zones?!

Does Max Fisher give a crap about covering Israel fairly? Nope. That’s why he’s so well-suited to cover it for Vox.

We did, but it never hurts to be reminded. Here’s Fisher’s latest insightful take on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

“Real journalism,” ladies and gentlemen.

Suuuuure he will. Right after he apologizes for being a ginormous jackass.

‘Just grotesque’: Vox pounded for ‘moronic’ take on murders of 3 Israeli teens

Hey, remember that time Vox wasn’t a hotbed of shameless hackery? Yeah, neither do we. Today, writer Max Fisher undertook the admirable task of Voxsplaining how Israel is exploiting the murders of three teens in order to bully those poor Palestinians.

No, really. Here’s how Fisher kicked things off:

Twenty days after three Israeli high school students were kidnapped in the West Bank merely for being there, two days after they were found murdered in an apparent execution by Hamas members, and one day after Israelis gathered nationally to mourn the deaths, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies on Israel’s political right appear to have extracted what they wanted from the crisis.

Nice, huh?

But this is Vox we’re dealing with.

And actual journalism is nowhere to be found.

Commentary assistant editor Seth Mandel was rightfully repulsed:

And he didn’t hold back:

Wisdom from Vox? Not a chance.

Israel Approves $46 Million Plan To Absorb European Jews Following Terror Attacks

“We are bracing ourselves and calling for a mass immigration from Europe,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday.

The Israeli Cabinet on Sunday approved a $46 million plan to finance the arrival of thousands of Jewish people expected to immigrate from Europe, following a number of anti-Semitic attacks on the continent in recent months.

Just hours after a gunman in Copenhagen, Denmark, fatally shot a man outside a synagogue as part of twin terrorist attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country was ready to welcome Jews “home.”

“I would like to say to all of Europe’s Jews, and Jews everywhere, Israel is the home of every Jew,” he said in a Facebook post.

Under Israeli law, Jewish immigrants to Israel are entitled to financial support. The multi-million-dollar package approved Sunday will finance the arrival of what the government estimates will be thousands of Jews from Ukraine, France, and Belgium.

While much of eastern Ukraine has been left devastated by civil war, France and Belgium have been the target of anti-Semitic attacks in recent months. In Paris last month, four Jewish men were killed inside a kosher supermarket by an Islamist gunman, while four people were killed at a Jewish museum in Brussels in May 2014.

“This wave of attacks is expected to continue,” Netanyahu told his Cabinet. “Jews deserve security in every country, but we say to our Jewish brothers and sisters, Israel is your home.”

However, Netanyahu’s comments were met with anger by Copenhagen’s chief rabbi, Jair Melchior.

“People from Denmark move to Israel because they love Israel, because of Zionism. But not because of terrorism,” Melchior told the Associated Press. “If the way we deal with terror is to run somewhere else, we should all run to a deserted island.”

On Sunday, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt lay flowers outside the synagogue where a security guard was shot dead.

“Our thoughts go to the whole of the Jewish community today,” she told reporters. “They belong in Denmark. They are a strong part of our community, and we will do everything we can to protect the Jewish community in our country.”

Netanyahu is in the middle of a re-election campaign, with elections scheduled for March 17.
