JournoList founder Ezra Klein to leave Washington Post?!/EWErickson/status/418922974318587904

According to the New York Times, JournoList founder and Wonkblog editor Ezra Klein is preparing to leave the Washington Post to start his own site. The Times reports that Klein “put forward a proposal with detailed revenue projections to build a new website dedicated to explanatory journalism on a wide range of topics beyond political policy,” but the Post’s publisher as well as its owner (Amazon founder Jeff Bezos) declined to fund it.!/ScottyBurberry/status/418943772857475072!/john_carbone/status/418940363647508480!/FilmLadd/status/418938501699084288!/Bro_Pair/status/418936767996125184!/bradcundiff/status/418937555619692544!/pourmecoffee/status/418935176098766849

‘Hating Breitbart’ makers release never-before-seen clip [video]!/CAPartyGirl/status/439909760926638080

On the second anniversary of Andrew Breitbart’s death, the makers of the film “Hating Breitbart” have released previously unseen footage.

In this clip, Breitbart explains the lengths he goes to in order to protect his sources, such as Hannah Giles, the young “prostitute” who helped to take down ACORN in a series of undercover videos.!/pray_for_life/status/439872156084994049

Jake Tapper learns that Jill Abramson story gets ‘more media-navel-gazy’!/jaketapper/status/468557870213365761

As Twitchy reported, the media’s self-absorption rate was off the charts this morning as recently fired New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson delivered the commencement address at Wake Forest. Not among the 1,000+ media reporters watching the speech was “This American Life” host Ira Glass, who surprised New York magazine by knowing nothing about it.!/NYMag/status/468455044745273344

“Am I, like, the only person in New York who hasn’t heard this?” Glass asked. Nor was he aware that Abramson was the Times’ first female editor. “Honestly, like, I’m a superfan of the New York Times, but I know nothing about how they put it together and I really don’t care.”

In which Oliver Willis shows he literally can’t count to two!/owillis/status/420785503483346944

Have you ever rushed to make fun of someone and didn’t notice that you forgot to count properly in your haste? No? Well then you must not be Media Matters expert Oliver Willis, who stumbled harder than Obamacare in his pathetic attempt to insult conservative commentator S.E. Cupp.

Here’s the “sentence” he is trying to mock:

For one, there are glaring inconsistencies between the liberal argument for pot legalization and positions on other issues. An obvious one is gun control.

He’s the smartest man in the room — because he works at Media Matters.!/GwarfJansen/status/420790208611622912

On Thursday, Twitchy told you about Tina Brown’s mock-worthy prog take on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “first inequality moment.” Here’s what the Daily Beast co-founder tweeted:

Snow justice, snow peace!

Twitter flashback: activate!

Maid for mockery.

Someone should have told the mayor merely introducing a shovel-toting servant to Oprah would have sufficed. No need to venture out into the cold for a photo op:

MSNBC head apologizes for bigoted tweet, but will anything change? [video]!/MarlboroStan/status/428997874697773056

As Twitchy reported, Reince Priebus banned RNC staffers from appearing on MSNBC until network president Phil Griffin publicly apologized for MSNBC’s race-baiting tweet. This afternoon, Griffin issued a statement. But is it really an apology?!/NoahCRothman/status/428994699261927425

Here’s the text of the apology, via Politico:

The tweet last night was outrageous and unacceptable. We immediately acknowledged that it was offensive and wrong, apologized, and deleted it. We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet. I personally apologize to Mr. Priebus and to everyone offended. At MSNBC we believe in passionate, strong debate about the issues and we invite voices from all sides to participate. That will never change.

Sigh. While it’s nice to see him acknowledging that the tweet was awful, once again, an MSNBC bigwig is asserting that “this isn’t who we are,” that all points of view are given respect. We all know that’s B.S. For years, MSNBC has cultivated an environment of hate. And, barring a miracle, that will never change.

Priebus has reportedly accepted Griffin’s apology:!/ZekeJMiller/status/429006810284969984

But that apology isn’t worth squat if viciousness and bigotry remain the status quo at MSNBC.!/ricjames/status/429005759729250304!/Johnatshield/status/429005302092935168!/redsteeze/status/429001077136953344

Exactly. Meanwhile, Griffin might want to take pre-emptive measures before his network’s next colossal blunder:!/ShoeBeDoBeDo/status/429001401255985153

“The Half-Assed Apology Channel” might be better.

Photoshoppers have fun with President Obama’s ‘Promise Zones’

Thursday morning, President Obama announced the creation of five “Promise Zones,” in which the federal government “will partner in helping local leaders develop policies that improve education, protect the most vulnerable, and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit.”

One thing the president’s speech did encourage was the creative spirit.

San Antonio will host a Promise Zone, but that didn’t put a dent in Texas pride.
