So, California, how are your Obamacare plans working out so far?!/grantklein/status/425811138022883328

After months of anxious anticipation, insurance policies purchased under Obamacare finally went into effect on January 1. We’ve been told the new regime would be Heaven on Earth, but some Californians are finding that things aren’t quite so peachy. As Twitchy reported, Anthem Blue Cross (the largest insurer in California’s Obamacare exchange) has been inundated with complaints from enrollees (or those trying to enroll) who can’t get through to customer service staff. That was two weeks ago. Judging by the tweets we’ve been seeing the past few days (see below), not much has changed.!/the_patdeezy/status/426116675331555328!/joshuaw/status/426493934458519552!/MissShevaughn/status/425337643992248320!/HandsomeTimmyD/status/424989565196058624!/OnstadsIns/status/426448079684771841!/Erinjoyhenry/status/426392325590249472!/dickcaps/status/426189294164660224!/samhouston/status/426165047484628992!/ArchStanton52/status/426152390186647552!/cb2705/status/426084176257765376!/cgoodmac/status/426076824410419201!/bobdavis84/status/426071593979109377

Dear ANTHEM , I would say you SUCK but that would be a complement .

Blue Shield California is reportedly the second-largest insurer in California’s Obamacare exchange. The customer service situation there appears to be every bit as awful as Anthem’s:!/tony_g1122/status/426492241612255232!/tekhan/status/426487799127097344!/tekhan/status/426491177982894080!/songwritersplay/status/426456810808029184!/hayesstaci/status/425386472309420033!/beccaeliasen/status/426421289620762625!/jonwsimmons/status/426232598877073408!/AaronSOLD/status/426228234317869056!/tvladeck/status/426145095105011712!/geoffreyo/status/426123709229694978!/danileh/status/426073912783278080!/ChelsLady/status/426067382486827009!/iammattfried/status/426060290539528192!/BenLevy74/status/426043077065596928!/CodyHopkins/status/425786462475661312!/Qnhatshepsut11/status/426047495580307456!/cphartman/status/425666799720345600

Lousy customer service is just the tip of the iceberg.

Here’s a tweeter who says the entire UCLA Medical System has been dropped from Blue Shield’s provider network:!/rachelyonda/status/425717634126995456

Here’s a similar complaint from a tweeter who had hoped to receive treatment at Eisenhower Medical Center in Coachella Valley:!/billnandy/status/425680346706087936

Nervous yet, Californians? If you’re in an Obamacare plan, you probably should be:!/LABeachmom/status/426390104467197952!/elinewell/status/426146743630053376!/deecarly/status/425366215662370817!/VeryPROUDAuntie/status/425721346237034496

Presumably, not everyone complaining about his or her health plan is an Obamacare enrollee. On the other hand, a majority of people who enrolled in California’s Obamacare exchange signed up with one of the two insurers mentioned above (i.e., Anthem Blue Cross or Blue Shield California).

In short, if you like your doctor, you may not be able to keep your doctor. But — great news! — you can keep your craptastic Obamacare plan that won’t answer your phone calls.

Congratulations, California!
