FLOTUS says Obama’s opponents counted on ‘folks like us’ to stay home

http://twitter.com/#!/sistertoldjah/status/516708353439846401

The first lady traveled to Milwaukee, Wisc., Monday to campaign for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke. Obama told the small crowd that her husband’s election shocked many who counted on “folks like us” to stay home.

Folks like us?

Some people were shocked to see Obama win because "they were counting on folks like us to stay home," FLOTUS says

You heard it too? No, she probably meant something like this.

@jeneps …and by "like us," she means Ivy League, political couples no doubt.

No doubt.

‘Spinulation’: Earnest says 2014 ‘not a true national election’

http://twitter.com/#!/gtcanhelp/status/529377173988442112

The White House isn’t feeling to well about tomorrow’s elections. First Joe Biden has already started talking about Republicans “compromising” and now Josh Earnest is saying tomorrow isn’t a ‘true national election.’

sour-grapes

Wait. The President said that?  Oh, yes he did.

Let him be clear…

Awkward.

Heh.

Wasn’t he mostly focused on how to circumvent it though?

DCCC’s latest plea: ‘This election is critical to Barack Obama’s legacy’

http://twitter.com/#!/Garrett_R_Hall/status/519667842925330434

Just yesterday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee hit up its email list members with its most pathetic fundraising plea yet: “It’s over. Zero chance. Goodbye.”

Could the DCCC go any lower? Today’s message is a plea for votes and not money, but “hope and change” is long gone, now replaced by the need to vote Democrat in the midterms to preserve Obama’s legacy. It’s really important, guys.

‘Can a magazine jump a shark?’ The New Republic redefines ‘voter suppression’

“Didja hear how the GOP is suppressing the vote?”
“Dogs? Water cannons?”’
“WORSE. They’re, gasp, LEAVING A DEM ON THE BALLOT!”
“…”

— Sonny Bunch (@SonnyBunch) September 05, 2014

Welp, give The New Republic points for creativity with this one:

http://twitter.com/#!/tnr/status/507980510405357569

So here’s the deal: Kansas Democrat Chad Taylor has been running against incumbent GOP Senator Pat Roberts, but the Independent candidate is currently beating him in the polls. So, what’s a flailing Dem to do? Why, drop out of the race, of course.

Unfortunately for Taylor, Kansas’ secretary of state isn’t letting him off the hook so easily. And The New Republic really doesn’t like that. Because … voter suppression?

The case will now go to the courts. Election law guru Rick Hasen writes that though Taylor has a case, the question of what the courts will do is a tossup. If they rule for Kobach, then Democrats will have to undertake the awkward task of asking voters not to vote for the Democrat on the ballot. But they’ll also have vouchsafed the strategy Republicans always employ when they fear the electorate isn’t on their side. Normally that means making it hard for Democrats to vote in the first place. This time around it means trying to trick low-information Democrats into voting for a candidate who isn’t running. But it’s still voter suppression.

It is? Since when?

‘Brutal’ 2014 midterm election polls show voters ‘mad as hell’

We’re 7 days away from the election and President Obama/Dems can’t be happy with this new Washington Post-ABC poll:

Ka-boom!

How’s that for a headline going into the midterms? “A country in trouble.” Thanks, Dems!

And check out this poll from CNN that fits with the one from the Post-ABC:

‘We’re screwed’: Obama won’t concede Romney was right, writes off Russia as ‘regional power’

During today’s presser at The Hague, ABC News’ Jon Karl put President Obama on the spot:

About damn time somebody had the cojones to confront Obama for mocking Mitt Romney over Russia back in 2012.

It was indeed a great question. Unfortunately, Obama didn’t feel like answering it:

Doesn’t matter. President Stompy Foot doesn’t give a damn about your questions — or about facts:

And not only is Russia just a “regional power,” but it’s not all that influential:

He’s delusional — and staggeringly naïve:

Messy? Really, Mr. President? If you want to see a real mess, look in the mirror sometime:

Romney didn’t call Russia a “national security threat.”

He doesn’t seem to know what anything means. Like we said, facts just aren’t important to him.

‘Insane’: ‘Pseudo candidate’ Mike Dickinson can’t stop being creepy

Mike Dickinson is a self-described left-wing liberal who claims to be running to unseat Rep. Eric Cantor in Virginia even though he reportedly missed the filing deadline to appear on the ballot as a Democrat.

The unhinged Dickinson has previously made degrading “F, marry, kill” comments in reference to conservative women, but yesterday he added a conservative male to the list:

Another day, another F, Marry, Kill.
@nikkihaley @AnnCoulter and @SenTedCruz
it's all fun and games. Who would pick? This one is easy— DickinsonForCongress (@VoteMike2014) May 27, 2014

Disturbing, right? But not to be outdone, today Dickinson made it all about himself:

We can’t say it enough: An intervention is in order.
