Not even cartoons.

More from TheMonitor.com.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations agent was working along State Highway 186 near Farm-to-Market Road 493, just west of the Hidalgo-Willacy county, line when he was shot in the abdomen shortly before 4 a.m., those sources said.

As of 8:30 a.m., more than half a dozen different law enforcement agencies were on the scenes, including ICE, FBI, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Marshals Service, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, Texas Rangers and Hidalgo County Constable’s Office.

Sheriff Treviño said investigators were working to identify one or more suspects in the shooting.

The investigation is underway.

What Happened To This Abandoned Baby Squirrel Will Melt Your Heart. A Must See.

Sometimes, animals can’t look after themselves. Interfering with nature can be tricky, but when one man in Sri Lanka found a tiny ground squirrel dying in the forest, he couldn’t resist helping it. His journey back to health will melt your heart to pieces.

A filmmaker named Paul Williams found a squirrel in dire need of help.

The BBC Wildlife film pro discovered him left alone in the wild.

The ground squirrel’s mother must have abandoned him.

Paul took him in and began nursing him.

They hung out together at the hotel Paul was staying at in Sri Lanka.

Paul would hand feed the little guy daily, helping him regain his strength.

He wasn’t his mommy, but he was doing a great job of raising him.

Soon, the little squirrel began acting more alert, developing a personality.

Paul had to leave Sri Lanka to go back to the UK.

He left the squirrel with the hotel staff, who promised to feed the little squirrel until he was ready to be let back into the wild.

We hope this tiny wonder always remember his friend from the UK that saved his life. Source

Another leftist lie: Paul Ryan ‘wants to end Medicare’

Faced with the likelihood that presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney will select Paul Ryan to be his running mate, liberals are portraying Rep. Ryan as a radical thinker who “wants to end Medicare”:

"@mombizzz: Paul Ryan is the WORST VP Pick Ever!!!!" Not for the Dems! Ryan wants to end Medicare and Social Security.

— DBurnett (@therealdburnett) August 11, 2012

With Paul Ryan as VP #Romney just LOST #Florida & Election: Ryan wants to END #Medicare. Retired Senior Citizens will fight back hard. #p2

Paul Ryan? The guy who wants to end medicare?? Thanks for the senior vote #mittromney

Romney would never choose Ryan for his VP. Paul Ryan wants to end Medicare (just like Bush wanted to end Social Security). #RomneyVP

— DaleGregory Anderson (@dgampls) August 11, 2012

Paul Ryan would be the first honest thing in Romney's campaign. Would leave no doubt the GOP wants to end Medicare, Medicaid & SS. #edshow

Just one tiny little problem with this attack: It’s completely false.

Ryan explained his plan last year here:

Watch the video. Under Ryan’s plan, Medicare clearly would still exist.

If nothing is done to reform Medicare, the Medicare Trust Fund will run out of money and the program will go bankrupt.

Ryan does not want to end Medicare. He is trying to strengthen the program and make it solvent.

Even left-leaning Politifact acknowledged that the “wants to end Medicare” canard is false. In fact, it was Politifact’s Lie of the Year in 2011.

The Left falsely portrays Paul Ryan as an Ayn Rand devotee

Bada zing!

And likely accurate. Imagine the conversation at the star-studded event: “Aren’t the Romneys so out of touch?! (while scarfing down $40,000 meal) And that wife never worked a day in her life! Oh, excuse me; need to call the nanny. Wait, never mind, I’ll have my assistant do it.”

Blake Shelton looking toward ‘2016’?

We don’t know if Blake Shelton has seen “2016: Obama’s America” yet, but a lot of people have, despite curious reports of missing theater listings. The film, based on a bestselling book by President Barack Obama’s brother’s keeper Dinesh D’Souza, placed 13th in the box office race last weekend despite playing on only 169 screens. (The release expands to 700 theaters this weekend.)

Reliable critics say “2016” is fun for the entire “Voice” family.

.@blakeshelton YES. Great movie. I bet your Voice co-hosts won't like it much…especially @adamlevine

Tell Adam Levine it’s all about Obama’s second term and he’ll beg to come along.

; Update: Pacquaio banned from LA mall for life

Think Progress is promoting the progressive Courage Campaign’s call for Nike to drop its sponsorship of boxer Manny Pacquiao following his widely reported remarks about Obama’s newly (r)evolved position on gay marriage.

Homophobia+Violence= @Nike? Join us in telling Nike to drop #homophobic boxer #MannyPacquiao http://t.co/VTyZ1RHy #DropManny

— CourageCampaign (@CourageCampaign) May 16, 2012

From the Courage Campaign website:

In an interview published Tuesday, March 15th with the conservative Examiner newspaper, the world-famous boxer and Los Angeles resident quoted Leviticus, saying:

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

One huge problem: Pacquiao didn’t say that.

In fact, he says he’s never even read Leviticus.

I didn’t say that, that’s a lie… I didn’t know that quote from Leviticus because I haven’t read the Book of Leviticus yet

Even Granville Ampong, the writer who interviewed Pacquiao, claims the media erroneously attributed his editorial comments to the boxer.

https://twitter.com/#!/TheP0nC/status/202689115421024257

[N]owhere in my supposition and integration of my interview with Pacquiao did I mention that Pacquiao recited this Leviticus 20:13 nor did I imply that Pacquiao had quoted such.  I have simply reminded in my column how God made it clear in the Old Testament time that such practice of same-sex marriage is detestable and strictly forbidden, in as much as God wants to encourage his people practices that lead to health and happiness and fullness of life.

He’s calling on writers for USA Today and LA Weekly to retract their smears of Pacquiao.

The Village Voice’s Runnin’ Scared blog admits the coverage was wrong, but suggests it was Ampong’s fault:

We — and dozens of other news outlets — read the same article, in which Ampong clearly credits Pacquiao with quoting the Bible passage. It’s since been modified to clarify that Pacquiao isn’t the one who made the reference

Meanwhile, the Courage Campaign is still rallying the lefty troops to pressure Nike into dropping Pacquiao. Using the #DropManny hashtag, the organization is calling on Nike to:

Stand with millions of LGBT and fair minded-people the world over. Drop Manny Pacquiao now. Hatred surely does not = Nike

So far, the Courage Campaign has shown no signs of halting this attack on Pacquiao’s reputation and livelihood and Think Progress is happy to go along for the ride. Even now, Think Progress is smearing Pacquiao for the intent of his remarks, rather than holding him to what he actually said:

UPDATE: Did Pacquiao cite the Leviticus "put to death" verse or not? A new statement suggests he did: http://t.co/pxkfTTXZ

The progressive goon squad at work.

UPDATE:

Pacquiao was scheduled to be interviewed on “Extra” this afternoon at The Grove in LA.

Tomorrow @3pm my boy @MannyPacquiao will be @TheGroveLA ! We'll talk fights, politics, movies & maybe a little singing.. Come on by! #PacMan

— Mario Lopez (@MarioLopezExtra) May 15, 2012

In light of liberal outrage over what Manny Pacquaio said but didn’t actually say, Pacquaio has been banned from The Grove for life:

Boxer Manny Pacquiao is not welcome @TheGroveLA. @TheGroveLA is a gathering place for all Angelenos, not a place for intolerance.

— Rick Caruso (@RickCarusoLA) May 16, 2012

“Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance.”

We wouldn’t be surprised if this un-endorsement becomes the first of many. Pacquiao has an insane amount of high-profile athletic sponsors, including Hewlett-Packard and Hennessy, who probably don’t want to align themselves with such extreme anti-gay sentiments.

We should note, by the way, that LA Weekly has yet to actually admit culpability in propagating an unfounded story or issue any retractions or corrections.

Twitterer Davey D has been following the story, defending Pacquiao and calling out LA Weekly and others for their lack of integrity, journalistic and otherwise.

Manny Pacquio had to cancel a major appearance at the Grove in LA due the outrage over his stance on gay marriage…

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

In an initial intv Manny said he didnt favor gay marriage.. but the reporter added a quote from Leviticus & implied Pac wanted gays dead

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

Manny says he never read the Book of Leviticus & the reporter admits he added the quote to the story, but now everyone thinks its Pac words

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

One of the headlines in LA read Pacman Wants Gays Dead.. and cites the original article w/ a quote that Pac never said or referenced

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

If u note the quotations around the words "put to death' it leaves one thinking Manny said that.. he didnt put they let story fly..

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

@coleracquel manny did not cite Leviticus.. the reporter added that in there and has already admited to this…..

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

All I can say someone is gonna get sued over this bc folks are outraged at Manny Pac -He could lose major endorsements over this..

— Davey D (@mrdaveyd) May 16, 2012

Roseanne Barr says Mitt Romney video outs him from ‘racial closet’

There’s so much wrong with Roseanne Barr’s summary of Mitt Romney’s life already, so why not hang a hard left turn into #RACE? We didn’t catch Romney saying “kitchen cabinet” or “breadbasket” in his remarks, but Barr’s followers heard the racial code word loud and clear: entitled.

@TheRealRoseanne Thank you for saying that. They say "entitled" but they mean the N-word.

— SpinderEllie (@biencalabro) September 18, 2012

So, what’s the trick exactly to growing rich from living off the government? We’re sure a lot of people would like to know.

@TheRealRoseanne How much crack do you actually smoke? Pick one. Rich bastard off the poor or off of the government. #tcot #LNYHBT

What is Mitt Romney hiding? DJ Diplo looks into candidate’s trousers

It was Joe Biden who in time of national crisis reassured us the president has a big stick. Then he gave us all the creeps with his talk of knowing eight presidents, “three of them intimately.” Now Diplo, the DJ and producer who has worked with such acts as Beyoncé and Usher, has some inside information on the GOP candidate.

We’ll admit, this does have us rethinking our vote. What other knowledge do you have for us, Diplo?

Also walmart kills babys and eats them
